Industrial smelting furnaces can be classified according to the operation mode
(1) Continuous furnace
The charge of the continuous furnace is loaded from the charging side, and after completing the heating and heat preservation processes in the furnace according to the given temperature curve, the charge can be discharged at a certain rate and shape
(2) Periodic furnace
The charge of the periodic furnace is added into the furnace in batches according to a certain period, and all of them are transported out of the furnace after completing the heating, heat preservation and other processes according to the given temperature curve. Periodic furnaces are suitable for producing products with many varieties and specifications.

(1) No protective gas type
The atmosphere in the furnace is air or the combustion atmosphere of the fuel itself. It is mostly used for products that can form a dense protective layer on the surface of the furnace material at high temperature and can prevent severe oxidation at high temperature.
(2) Protective gas type
If the oxidation degree of the charge is not easy to control, usually the smelting chamber is evacuated to a low vacuum, and protective gases such as nitrogen and hydrogen are introduced into the furnace to prevent the metal from being oxidized during the capacity process.
